Failure to maintain the book, register or other electronic system, failing to maintain the copper, copper alloy, aluminum, aluminum alloy or any item listed in Section 8 of this act, separate and in the original form purchased for a period of ten (10) days so that such materials can be readily identifiable, or failure to report to the sheriff in the manner and time required in Section 1045 of this title shall be deemed a violation of the provisions of Section 1045 of this title and shall be punishable, upon conviction, by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of time not exceeding six (6) months, or by a fine of not more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment.
