In the administration of this act the commission shall have the following duties, authorities and powers:
- (1) To conduct a campaign of research, promotion and education;
- (2) To find new markets for peanuts and peanut products;
- (3) To accept grants and donations;
- (4) To sue and be sued;
- (5) To enter into such contracts as may be necessary or advisable for the purpose of this act;
- (6) To appoint an executive secretary and such other personnel as is needed, and to prescribe their duties and fix their compensation;
- (7) To cooperate with any organization or agency, whether voluntary or created by law or any state or by national law engaged in work or activities similar to the work and activities of the commission, and to enter into contracts and agreements with such organizations or agencies for carrying on a joint campaign of research, promotion and education; provided, however, no commission funds may be used, directly or indirectly, or as a result of contract or agreement, with other persons or organizations in supporting or opposing political candidates or political office holders, either state or national except for recommending amendments to this act. Provided that nothing herein shall restrict the powers of the commission as set forth in this section of this act;
- (8) To establish an office of the executive secretary at any place in this state the commission may select; and
- (9) To prosecute in the name of the State of Oklahoma any suit or action for the collection of the tax or assessment herein provided.
