Except as otherwise provided in sections 4955.55 and 4955.57 of the Revised Code, any person responsible for the installation of wayside detector systems alongside or on a railroad shall ensure that each system location is the following distance from the adjacent system location:

1. (A) For a class I carrier railroad, not more than ten miles;
2. (B) For a class II carrier railroad, not more than twenty-five miles;
3. (C) For a class III carrier railroad, not more than thirty-five miles.
