If the state chiropractic board determines under section 4734.282 of the Revised Code that an applicant meets the requirements for a certificate to practice acupuncture, the executive director of the board shall issue to the applicant a certificate to practice acupuncture. A certificate to practice acupuncture expires biennially in accordance with a schedule the board shall establish. The certificate may be renewed in accordance with section 4734.284 of the Revised Code.
