(B) The board shall approve the applicant to provide a medication aide training program if the content of the course of instruction to be provided by the program meets the standards specified by the board in rules adopted under section 4723.69 of the Revised Code and includes all of the following:

1. (1) At least seventy clock-hours of instruction, including both classroom instruction on medication administration and at least twenty clock-hours of supervised clinical practice in medication administration;
2. (2) A mechanism for evaluating whether an individual's reading, writing, and mathematical skills are sufficient for the individual to be able to administer prescription medications safely;
3. (3) An examination that tests the ability to administer prescription medications safely and that meets the requirements established by the board in rules adopted under section 4723.69 of the Revised Code.
