The ICF/IID provides active treatment in the least restrictive setting and includes all needed services for individuals with intellectual disabilities or persons with related conditions whose mental or physical condition require services on a regular basis that are above the level of a residential or room and board setting and can only be provided in a facility which is equipped and staffed to provide the appropriate services.
