N.M. Code R. § 21.33.2.16

Inspection and Tests at Meat Establishments

  1. A. All livestock and poultry received at an establishment may be inspected for health by the board, or its authorized agent.
  2. B. In conducting such inspections of any meat in the possession of the operator, such board or its agent, is authorized to test and to require the administration of such preventative or curative treatment, as the state veterinarian shall deem necessary to prevent the spread of livestock disease.
  3. C. The tests and treatments which are required as part of this section shall be accomplished at the owner’s expense.
