With the exception of a registered dealer, a person subject to G.S. 78A-17.1 and the rules in this Section shall:

1. (1) ensure that filed electronic documents include all meta-data or other information related to the properties or history of the document; and

2. (2) retain the information:

   1. (a) in the original form in which the information was created; or
   2. (b) in any other format that accurately captures and retains the original information.
