1. (1) In accordance with 37-1-123, there is a board of athletic trainers.

2. (2) The board consists of five members:

   1. (a) one physician, preferably with a background in the practice of sports medicine;

   2. (b) three athletic trainers:

      1. (i) one athletic trainer with experience in one or more postsecondary educational institutions;
      2. (ii) one athletic trainer with experience in one or more secondary schools; and
      3. (iii) one athletic trainer with experience in one or more health care or athletic facilities; and
   3. (c) one public member.
3. (3) The board is allocated to the department as prescribed in 2-15-121.
4. (4) Members must be compensated as provided in 2-18-501 through 2-18-503.
