1. (1) The following are legal holidays in the state of Montana:

   1. (a) each Sunday;
   2. (b) New Year's Day, January 1;
   3. (c) Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the third Monday in January;
   4. (d) Presidents' Day, the third Monday in February;
   5. (e) Memorial Day, the last Monday in May;
   6. (f) Independence Day, July 4;
   7. (g) Labor Day, the first Monday in September;
   8. (h) Indigenous Peoples' Day and Columbus Day, the second Monday in October;
   9. (i) Veterans' Day, November 11;
   10. (j) Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in November;
   11. (k) Christmas Day, December 25;
   12. (l) state general election day.

2. (2)

   1. (a) If any of the holidays in subsections (1)(b) through (1)(l) fall on a Sunday, the Monday following is a holiday.
   2. (b) If any of the holidays in subsections (1)(b) through (1)(l) fall on a Saturday, the Friday preceding is a holiday.
   3. (c) All other days are business days.
