1. (1) A well used for monitoring purposes may not be converted to a water supply well, unless it:

   1. (a) meets minimum water well construction standards;
   2. (b) has board approval; and
   3. (c) complies with the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation's water rights statutes (Title 85, chapter 2, MCA).
