- (1) Licensees not engaged in licensed activities may request to place their licenses on inactive status.
- (2) While inactive, licensees must inform the board of any change in the licensee’s residency or mailing address.
- (3) To avoid lapse, expiration, or termination, an inactive license must be renewed each renewal period.
- (4) Licensees do not need to obtain continuing education until converting to active status.
(5) For an inactive licensee to become active, the licensee must:
- (a) request to move to an active status via a board-approved form; and
- (b) demonstrate completion of 30 hours of continuing education which comply with the continuing education rules in the two years immediately preceding the request for reactivation.
- (6) In the event an inactive licensee does not maintain a current license in any jurisdiction for the three previous years prior to requesting conversion to active status, the board may require the applicant to take and pass the principles and practice of engineering (PE) examination or the principles and practice of land surveying (PLS) examination.
