1. (1) Each permit holder shall be inspected initially, and at intervals not to exceed five years, by a qualified inspector per 37-4-308, MCA.

2. (2) The onsite inspection shall include:

   1. (a) demonstration of:

      1. (i) recognition and management of complications likely to occur, considering the techniques being used;
      2. (ii) knowledge of respective roles in normal operating procedures and in various emergency situations; and
      3. (iii) proficiency in handling emergency situations;
   2. (b) the presence of drugs and equipment appropriate for the level of sedation or anesthesia to be provided; and
   3. (c) evaluation of the accuracy of anesthesia record-keeping.
3. (3) If the inspector identifies violations, the permit holder may be subject to disciplinary action by the board.
4. (4) A licensee who provides anesthesia at multiple facilities must be inspected at one facility only. The licensee must attest all facilities are compliant for the equipment requirements.
