1. (1) Teachers licensed under ARM 24.121.607(1)(b) must complete 135 hours of teaching methodology coursework within two years of licensure that includes:

   1. (a) teaching methods 6 credits or 90 hours:

      1. (i) task analysis;
      2. (ii) developing instructional objectives;
      3. (iii) visual aids and their construction;
      4. (iv) motivational tools;
      5. (v) preparation of instructive materials;
      6. (vi) lesson planning;
      7. (vii) fundamentals of speech and public speaking;
      8. (viii) methods of test construction;
      9. (ix) methods of evaluation or grading; and
      10. (x) curriculum planning and development; and
   2. (b) educational psychology three credits or 45 hours.

2. (2) Coursework may be completed through:

   1. (a) classes acceptable to a state's board of regents or equivalent authority and approved through that state's university system;
   2. (b) self‐study if observed and documented by a licensed school; or
   3. (c) courses from a teacher course curriculum at a Montana licensed school.
3. (3) Before renewing the instructor license, documentation of completed coursework must be submitted for approval.
4. (4) Coursework completed prior to instructor licensure may be used to satisfy the requirements of this subsection.
