1. (1) In general, a basic health and physical education program shall:

   1. (a) meet the following conditions:

      1. (i) maintain class size in accordance with other curriculum areas;
      2. (ii) focus on the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle;
      3. (iii) integrate and include components of the traditional "health" and "physical education" disciplines;
      4. (iv) maintain a program that meets the educational requirements of health and physical education;
      5. (v) provide for the participation of all students in a health and physical education program; and
      6. (vi) maintain adequate first aid materials and communication device capabilities; and

   2. (b) include the following practices:

      1. (i) make appropriate use of technology in the curriculum;
      2. (ii) give students the decision-making tools to promote personal and community responsibility;
      3. (iii) address the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual dimensions of a healthy lifestyle; and
      4. (iv) promote physical activity as a means to a healthy lifestyle.
