- 1. The division of finance shall have charge of the execution of the laws relating to banks, trust companies, and the banking business of this state; of the laws relating to persons and entities engaged in the small loan or consumer credit business in this state; of the laws relating to persons and entities engaged in the mortgage loan business in this state; and of the laws relating to persons and entities engaged in any other financial services-related business over which the division of finance is granted express authority.
- 2. The director of finance may institute, in the name of the state of Missouri, and defend suits in the courts of this state and the United States.
