Referendum defeated — organization may call other referendums — assessment retention to be subject to vote every five years

In the event any referendum conducted under sections 263.500 to 263.537 fails to receive the required number of affirmative votes, the certified organization may, with the consent of the department be authorized to call other referendums.
- 2. After the passage of any referendum, the eligible voters shall be allowed, by the subsequent referendums, at least every five years, to vote on whether to continue their assessments.
- 3. All the requirements for an initial referendum shall be met in subsequent referendums.
