The Missouri state water patrol is authorized to employ, within the limits of appropriations made therefor and subject to the provisions of chapter 36, RSMo, such personnel as may be necessary to properly perform the duties of the water patrol, and the water patrol shall prescribe the duties and responsibilities of such personnel.
