A museum district created pursuant to sections 184.800 to 184.880 shall be governed by a board of directors consisting of eight members. Five of the members shall be elected as provided in section 184.830. Three members of the board of directors shall be appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate for a three-year term. Not more than two of the three members appointed by the governor shall be of the same political party. The governor shall appoint an interim director to complete the unexpired term of a director caused by resignation or disqualification who was appointed by the governor.
