PURPOSE: The purpose of this regulation is to comply with section 536.023, RSMo which requires each agency to adopt as a rule a description of its operation and the methods where the public may obtain information or make submissions or requests.

1. (1) The State Board of Mediation is an agency of the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.

   1. (A) The board decides issues as to appropriate bargaining units and majority representative status for public employees in the state.
   2. (B) The board mediates labor disputes in the area of public utilities between employers and employees as to hours, wages and working conditions.
   3. (C) The public may obtain information or make submissions or requests to the State Board of Mediation, P.O. Box 591, Jefferson City, MO 65102, telephone (573) 751-3614.
