PURPOSE: The State Board of Education is authorized to grant certificates of license to teach in any of the public schools of the state and establish requirements and qualifications for those certificates. This rule outlines the fees assessed.

1. (1) A fee, sufficient to recover costs of processing and issuing certificates of license to teach, will be charged to applicants who completed an approved teacher preparation program in a state other than Missouri. All applicants or certificate of license to teach holders may be charged additional fees to recover costs associated with the issuance of certificates of license to teach, other than the initial professional certificate of license to teach.

2. (2) The following fees are established by the State Board of Education (board) and are payable in the form of a check or money order to the Treasurer, State of Missouri:

   1. (A) Application for a Certificate of License to Teach (Individuals who completed a teacher preparation program from a non-Missouri school) $50.00
   2. (B) Application for a Career Continuous Professional Certificate of License to Teach (Individuals who completed a teacher preparation program from a non-Missouri school and/or individuals who hold an initial professional certificate of license to teach) $35.00
   3. (C) Reprint or Duplicate Certificate of License to Teach $25.00
   4. (D) Additional Certificate for the Addition of an Advanced Degree $25.00
   5. (E) Copy Cost (per page) $ .50
   6. (F) Research Fee (per hour) $35.00
   7. (G) Fingerprint Card Check—Amount determined by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and/or the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
   8. (H) Missouri Open Records Check— Amount determined by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
3. (3) All fees are nonrefundable.
