PURPOSE: This regulation provides the definition of a clearance letter and aids and effectuates licensing standards and procedures as outlined in section 375.017.2, RSMo.

1. (1) Definition. Clearance letter as used in this rule is a statement from another state certifying that the insurance producer held, within one (1) year next proceeding the date of application, the same kind of license as applied for in this state. The statement also includes the signature of the head of the insurance regulatory agency of the state from whom the insurance producer held the same kind of license and his/her official seal.
2. (2) A clearance letter submitted with an application for a resident license must be dated no earlier than six (6) months prior to the date the application is received by the Missouri Department of Insurance.
3. (3) Failure to submit a properly dated clearance letter will cause all application material to be returned to the insurance producer.
