Conversion: Semiprivate Room Rate

PURPOSE: This rule establishes the average semiprivate room rate charged in the largest major metropolitan area of this state. This rate is designed for use in connection with conversion of group policies. This rule is adopted pursuant to the provisions of sections 354.120, 375.045 and 376.395– 376.404, RSMo. (1) Definitions.
- (A) Average semiprivate room rate means the average prevailing charge for a semiprivate room in the St. Louis major metropolitan area.
- (B) Semiprivate room means a hospital room consisting of two (2) or more beds.
- (2) The average semiprivate room rate for purposes of sections 376.395–376.404, RSMo shall be an amount of no more than two hundred fifty-five dollars ($255) per day. This rate may be redetermined by the director of insurance from time-to-time, but shall not be made more often than once every three
- (3) years as provided in section 376.397, RSMo.
