PURPOSE: This rule defines the physical facilities required for programs of practical nursing.

1. (1) Office Space and Equipment.

   1. (A) The institution shall provide space and equipment to fulfill the purpose of the program.
   2. (B) The administrator of the program shall have a private office.
   3. (C) The coordinator and faculty shall have office space sufficient to carry out responsibilities of their position.
   4. (D) Private areas shall be provided for faculty/student conferences.
   5. (E) Fire-resistant storage space for student records (refer to 4 CSR 200-3.110(2)(B)).

2. (2) Library. FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION

   1. (A) Each program and each campus of each program shall have library resources with the following:

      1. 1. Quiet area designated for study;
      2. 2. Current resources to meet the educa-

tional needs of the students and to meet the instructional and scholarly activities of the faculty;

1. 3. Budgetary plan for acquisition of

printed and multimedia material;

1. 4. System for readily identifying or

deleting outdated resources;

1. 5. Policies and procedures governing the

administration and the use of the library shall be in writing and available to students; and

1. 6. Library resources shall be available

and accessible to meet the needs of the students.

1. (3) Classrooms and Clinical Skills Laboratory.

   1. (A) Classrooms shall be of size, number and type for the number of students and teaching methodology.
   2. (B) Classrooms shall have climate control, ventilation and lighting conducive to learning.
   3. (C) Classrooms shall have seating, furnishings and equipment conducive to learning.
   4. (D) Storage space shall be available for equipment and supplies.
   5. (E) Each program and each campus of each program shall have a clinical skills laboratory available to the students.
