PURPOSE: To set forth the ethical standards for electrical contractors.

1. (1) Each holder of a statewide electrical contractor license shall comply with these ethical standards. A licensed electrical contractor shall—

   1. (A) Have immediate personal possession of electrical license while performing electrical work;
   2. (B) Perform electrical work for which a permit is required only after obtaining a permit as required by the local political subdivision;
   3. (C) Perform electrical work in compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards;
   4. (D) Not intentionally charge a customer for work not performed or materials not provided;
   5. (E) Not obtain electrical permits on behalf of an electrical contractor without the knowledge and permission of the electrical contractor;
   6. (F) Not knowingly allow a hazardous situation to remain so that the public is unduly exposed to risk of injury;
   7. (G) Not impersonate another licensee, or allow the use of his or her license by an unlicensed person;
   8. (H) Not engage in conduct intended to defraud or deceive the public or any member of the public;
   9. (I) Include his or her license number on any written contract;
   10. (J) Not engage in the practice of electrical contracting if impaired by any drug or alcohol to an extent that continued practice is dangerous to any client or member of the public;
   11. (K) Not engage in the practice of electrical contracting if under any physical or mental disability or other condition so that continued practice is dangerous to clients or to the public;
   12. (L) Exercise due care in the supervision of electrical work of licensed and unlicensed persons under his or her supervision;
   13. (M) Complete, in a timely manner, work agreed to be performed and paid for by a customer; and
   14. (N) Perform all work for customers in a competent and compliant manner.
