PURPOSE: This rule complies with section 536.023, RSMo, which requires each agency to adopt as a rule a description of its operation and the methods where the public may obtain information or make submissions or requests.

1. (C) Molecular Diagnostics—
2. (1) The Division of Animal Health is a unit of the Department of Agriculture, state of Missouri. The animal health division’s primary responsibility is to control and eradicate livestock diseases to ensure optimum health of Missouri’s livestock population. This responsibility is carried out through various programs such as disease control and eradication, animal health laboratories, livestock market and dealer registration, rendering plant licensing, meat and poultry inspection, registration of livestock brands, and dead animal surveillance.

3. (2) The state veterinarian’s office is housed within the George Washington Carver State Office Building located at 1616 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

4. (3) Two (2) laboratories are maintained by the state veterinarian’s office and are located at the following addresses: Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory, 101 North Chestnut, Jefferson City, MO 65101; and Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory, 701 North Miller Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802.
