PURPOSE: This rule establishes the responsibility of laboratories to report to the Missouri Department of Health the results of all positive tests for specified diseases.
- (1) The director or person in charge of any laboratory shall report to the local health authority or the Missouri Department of Health the result of any test that is positive for, or suggestive of, any disease listed in 19 CSR 20-20.020. These reports shall be made according to the time and manner specified for each disease or condition following completion of the test and shall designate the test performed, the results of the test, the name and address of the attending physician, the name of the disease or condition diagnosed or suspected, the date the test results were obtained, the name of the patient and the patient's age, sex and race.
- (2) In reporting findings for diseases listed in 19 CSR 20-20.020, laboratories shall report— Blood or serum chemical/pesticide level greater than the Lowest Quantifiable Limit; Blood lead level greater than or equal to ten micrograms per deciliter ((cid:1)10 µg/dl) in persons under age eighteen (<18) or greater than or equal to twenty-five micrograms per deciliter ((cid:1)25 µg/dl) in persons age eighteen or greater ((cid:1)18); Blood mercury level greater than or equal to three-tenths micrograms per deciliter ((cid:1)0.3 µg/dl); Carboxyhemoglobin level greater than fifteen percent ((cid:3)15%); Urinary arsenic level greater than or equal to one hundred micrograms per liter ((cid:1)100 µg/l); Urinary cadmium level greater than or equal to one microgram per liter ((cid:1)1.0 µg/l); and Urinary mercury level greater than or equal to twenty micrograms per liter ((cid:1)20 µg/l).
