PURPOSE: This rule requires the area agency on aging to have a written staffing plan, employ a full-time director, and have adequate numbers of staff.

1. (1) The area agency on aging shall have on file for review—an up-to-date staffing plan that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, an organizational chart; a description of the education, experience, and background qualifications required for each position (paid and volunteer); a description of the responsibility assigned to each position (paid and volunteer); and a salary schedule.
2. (2) The area agency on aging shall employ a full-time director to assure the effective and efficient administration of the area plan. The full-time director shall possess the education, experience, and background qualifications as determined necessary by the governing body to fulfill the requirements and functions of the director’s position.
3. (3) The area agency on aging shall employ sufficient staff to carry out the required functions of the area agency on aging.
