PURPOSE: This rule establishes the policy regarding the maximum disability benefit for employees. 16 CSR 40-3
The maximum benefit period for employees disabled prior to sixty (60) years of age shall be the period beginning from the latter of the 181st day after disability, or the day following the day sick leave benefits are exhausted to the earlier of the end of the month in which the employee becomes sixty-five (65) years of age, or the date the employee begins receiving retirement benefits. The maximum benefit period for employees disabled on or after the attainment of sixty (60) years of age shall be the period commencing on the 181st day after disability, or the day following the exhaustion of sick leave benefits, whichever occurs later, for a maximum of five (5) years and a minimum of one (1) year, in accordance with the following schedule: Age at Disability
