PURPOSE: This rule establishes the policy regarding long-term disability benefits coverage for employees on paid sick leave or receiving Workers’ Compensation indemnity payments.

1. (1) Any employee on paid sick leave or receiving Workers’ Compensation indemnity payments is covered for long-term disability benefits and the necessary contribution to fund these benefits shall be paid by the state.
2. (2) Any other employee off the payroll will be covered for long-term disability benefits if the necessary contribution to fund these benefits is paid by that employee.
