PURPOSE: This regulation complies with section 536.023, RSMo which requires each agency to adopt as a rule a description of its operation and the methods where the public may obtain information or make submissions or requests.

1. (1) The State Board of Probation and Parole is a division of the Department of Corrections. The board’s primary duties are to release persons on parole or conditional release from the state adult correctional institutions; to supervise these persons; when necessary, to revoke these persons; to provide investigative and supervisory services for the criminal courts of the state; to provide investigative and supervisory services for other states through the Interstate Compact for the Supervision of Parolees and Probationers; and to investigate and make recommendations to the governor in all cases of executive clemency.
2. (2) Pursuant to the authority granted by section 217.670.5, RSMo, all meetings of the Board of Probation and Parole are closed meetings unless posted as open meetings, and all votes of the board are closed votes.
