PURPOSE: This rule prohibits the payment of Temporary Assistance to teenage parents who do not attend high school or other equivalent training program.

1. (1) For the purpose of the administration of the Temporary Assistance Program, the Division of Family Services shall not provide assistance to an individual who has not attained eighteen (18) years of age, is not married, has a minor child at least twelve

2. (12) weeks of age in his/her care, and has not successfully completed a high school education (or its equivalent), if the individual does not participate in—

   1. (A) Educational activities directed towards the attainment of a high school diploma or its equivalent; or
   2. (B) An alternative educational or training program that has been approved by the Division of Family Services.
