Historic Vehicle License

PURPOSE: This rule allows a vehicle registered pursuant to subsection 5 of section 301.131, RSMo, and displaying a license plate manufactured prior to 1979 to be operated on the highways of this state without displaying validation tabs.
- (1) The owner of any vehicle who has registered a license plate issued by the state of Missouri prior to 1979 with the Department of Revenue as a personalized historic plate shall annually file an application and pay the personalized plate fee. The personalized plate fee shall be reflected on the registration slip and a validation year tab(s) will not be issued to the plate(s). The annual registration receipt shall be carried in the vehicle at all times as proof of current registration.
