PURPOSE: This rule clarifies the process to be used for issuance of replacement license tabs at no cost to an individual whose tabs have been stolen.

1. (1) In the event license tabs are stolen, one
2. (1) set of replacement license tabs may be issued to the applicant at no cost when a police report of the theft is provided. Only one (1) set of replacement tabs may be issued at no fee per year.
3. (2) The applicant must provide proof of registration, (validated pink registration receipt) and a copy of the police report when making application for the replacement license tabs.
4. (3) If the applicant is applying for license plates and license tabs that have been reported as stolen, an eight dollars fifty cents ($8.50) fee per plate is assessed for a replacement plate, but the license tabs are issued at no cost.
