Minn. Stat. § 239.753 – Entry upon Premises and Access to Records

(a) The director, or a delegated employee of the department, may enter the premises of a person who processes, holds, stores, imports, transfers, offers for sale or use, or sells petroleum products in Minnesota to:
1. (1) inspect the product in storage tanks and take samples from the storage tanks and dispensing equipment connected to the storage tanks;
2. (2) inspect petroleum product dispensers and related signs and equipment, advertising signs, price displays, oxygenate labels, and octane labels; and
3. (3) audit and make copies of petroleum product shipping, receiving, and invoice documents and records to determine compliance with sections 239.75 to 239.792.
(b) The director shall limit inspection to information and data relating to product quantity, quality, biofuel content, and octane. The director shall maintain the confidentiality of certain records as required by section 239.791.
