Minn. Stat. § 353G.12
Subd. 1. Entitlement.
Subd. 2. Lump-sum division; survivor benefit amount.
The amount of the survivor benefit for the lump-sum division is the amount of the retirement benefit that would have been payable to the member of the lump-sum division on the date of death if the member had been age 50 or older on that date.
Subd. 3. Monthly division; survivor benefit amount.
The amount of the survivor benefit for the monthly division is the survivor service pension amount specified in the retirement benefit plan document applicable to the fire department, subject to all conditions and limitations for the benefit specified therein.
Subd. 4. Defined contribution plan; survivor benefit amount.
The amount of the survivor benefit for the defined contribution plan is the amount credited to the individual account of the deceased member on the date of death.
