Subd. 1. Open seasons.

1. (a) The open season for taking mussels is from May 16 to the last day of February.
2. (b) The commissioner may by rule restrict the open season for taking mussels for commercial purposes.

Subd. 2. Closed areas.

The commissioner may close up to 50 percent of the mussel-producing waters of the state to the taking of mussels.
