If an individual on probation elects not to participate in the sanctions conference, the probation officer may:

1. (1) ask the court to initiate revocation proceedings or refer the matter to the appropriate prosecuting authority for action under section 609.14; or
2. (2) take action to apprehend and detain the individual under section 244.1951.
