Subd. 1. Commissioner's responsibility.

The commissioner shall integrate and operate the state's centralized computer facilities to serve the needs of state government. The commissioner shall provide technical assistance to state agencies in the design, development, and operation of their computer systems.

Subd. 2. Joint actions.

The commissioner may, within available funding, join with the federal government, other states, local governments, and organizations representing those groups either jointly or severally in the development and implementation of systems analysis, information services, and computerization projects.
