The person-in-charge shall ensure that:

1. A. Containers are:

   1. (1) Protected from contamination; and
   2. (2) If multiservice, adequately cleaned, sanitized, and inspected prior to filling in accordance with 21 CFR §129.80(b)(1), (c), and (d);

2. B. Container caps are:

   1. (1) Stored in a sanitary manner; and

   2. (2) Before use:

      1. (a) Examined for cleanliness; and
      2. (b) Washed, rinsed, and sanitized as necessary to prevent contamination of finished product water; and

3. C. Records are made at the plant that:

   1. (1) Document the proper cleaning and sanitization of containers;
   2. (2) Are maintained for at least 2 years; and
   3. (3) Are available for inspection by the Department.
