Sec. 2. (a) The definitions in IC 27-1-23 and the following definitions apply throughout this rule:

1. (1) "Executive officer" means the following:

   1. (A) Chief executive officer.
   2. (B) Chief operating officer.
   3. (C) Chief financial officer.
   4. (D) Treasurer.
   5. (E) Secretary.
   6. (F) Controller.
   7. (G) Any other individual performing functions corresponding to those performed by the officers listed in clauses (A) through (F) under whatever title.
2. (2) "Foreign insurer" includes an alien insurer except where clearly noted otherwise.
3. (3) "NAIC" means the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
4. (4) "Ultimate controlling person" means a controlling person within an insurance holding company system who is not controlled by any other person.

(b) The meaning of nomenclature or terminology not defined in this section or in IC 27-1-23 is according to the insurance code, IC 27, or industry usage if not defined in the code.
