Sec. 1. (a) In addition to the prohibited sports wagering patrons, and except as provided in subsection (b), the following individuals may not participate in sports wagering:

1. (1) A member of the commission.
2. (2) An employee of the commission.
3. (3) An agent of the commission.
4. (4) The spouse of any individual in subdivisions (1), (2), and (3).

(b) A member, employee, or agent of the commission may participate in sports wagering if that person:

1. (1) has received the written authorization from the executive director or the executive director's designee to participate in sports wagering as part of the person's employment; and
2. (2) is participating only to the extent authorized by the executive director or the executive director's designee.
