Sec. 5. (a) The division shall issue a boiler and pressure vessel inspector license to an applicant who qualifies as set forth in section 3 of this rule.

(b) A boiler and pressure vessel inspector license expires on December 31 of the year of issuance.

(c) To renew a boiler and pressure vessel inspector license, an applicant must do the following:

1. (1) File an application on a form approved by the division containing any information the division requires to determine compliance with this article.

2. (2) Complete a program of continuing education for all renewals subsequent to the first year of licensure:

   1. (A) in accordance with the requirements of the National Board to maintain a NBBI commission; or
   2. (B) that is equivalent to the National Board requirements and approved by the division.
3. (3) Pay the fee in 675 IAC 12-3-13.

(d) If at any time an inspector no longer holds a commission, license, or certification as set forth in section 3(2) of this rule, the inspector shall immediately notify the division, and the license issued under section 5(a) of this rule [subsection (a)] is invalid. If any disciplinary action is taken against a commission, license, or certification mentioned in section 3(2) of this rule, the holder shall immediately notify the division and is subject to disciplinary action under subsection (e).

(e) The division, and the commission under IC 22-15-6-5(d), may sanction a boiler and pressure vessel inspector under IC 22-12-7 if the inspector is found in violation of IC 22-15-6 or any rule of the commission.
