Sec. 12. (a) "Ladders" mean the following:

1. (1) "Deck ladder" means a ladder for deck access from outside the pool.
2. (2) "In-pool ladder" means a ladder located in a pool to provide ingress and egress from the deck.
3. (3) "Limited access ladder" means a ladder with provision for making entry inaccessible when a pool is not in use, that is, swing-up, slide-up, or equivalent.

(b) "Light reflectance value" or "LRV" means a scientifically determined numerical rating on the amount of light and heat that a color will reflect on a scale of zero (0) to one hundred (100). Pure black is zero (0), and pure white is nearly one hundred (100).

(c) "Liner" means the membrane that acts as a container for the water, usually categorized as one (1) of the following:

1. (1) "Expandable liner" means a liner that is constructed of a material that has the capability of stretching into a greater depth of irregular shape other than the original constructed dimensions.
2. (2) "Hopper liner" means a liner that is used to obtain greater depth by geometrical pattern construction on the liner bottom or floor to fit a predetermined size and shape.

(d) "Listed" means equipment or materials included in a list published by an organization engaged in product evaluation, that maintains periodic inspection of production of listed equipment or materials, and whose listing states either that the equipment or material:

1. (1) meets appropriate standards; or
2. (2) has been tested and found suitable for use in a specified manner.

(e) "Lower distribution system" (underdrain) means those devices used in the bottom of a permanent medium filter to:

1. (1) collect the water during the filtering; and
2. (2) distribute the water during the backwashing.
