Sec. 5. In order to be accepted for training in the BEP, an applicant must:
(1) be:
- (A) legally blind;
- (B) at least eighteen (18) years of age;
- (C) a United States citizen; and
- (D) hold a high school diploma or equivalent;
(2) be:
- (A) a client of vocational rehabilitation services; and
- (B) referred for the BEP by vocational rehabilitation services;
(3) have:
- (A) adequate orientation and mobility skills to travel independently;
- (B) skills sufficient to communicate with the public in a courteous manner; and
- (C) the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with others;
- (4) be able to maintain required records and reports;
(5) have:
- (A) mathematical skills sufficient to operate a small business; and
- (B) independent daily living skills sufficient to allow the applicant to meet personal care and facility maintenance needs.
