Sec. 2. (a) In accordance with the provisions of 410 IAC 5-4-3(a), and except as provided in 410 IAC 5-4-2(b), no licensee or registrant shall possess, use, receive, or transfer sources of radiation in such a manner as to cause any individual in a restricted area to receive in any period of one calendar quarter from all sources of radiation in the licensee's or registrant's possession a total occupational dose in excess of the standards specified in the following table: 1/ For determining the doses specified in 410 IAC 5-4-2 a dose from x or gamma rays up to 10 MeV may be assumed to be equivalent to the exposure measured by a properly calibrated appropriate instrument in air at or near the body surface in the region of the highest dose rate.

(b) A licensee or registrant may permit an individual in a restricted area to receive a total occupational dose to the whole body greater than that permitted under 410 IAC 5-4-2(a), provided:
