Sec. 3. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), a person must not operate a wheeled vehicle on a designated snowmobile trail.

(b) The following are exempted from the general prohibition against the operation of a wheeled vehicle on a snowmobile trail:

1. (1) A person operating a wheeled vehicle on a road where it intersects with a snowmobile trail.
2. (2) A person operating equipment for the purpose of grooming a snowmobile trail.
3. (3) A person who operates a wheeled vehicle while crossing a snowmobile trail on land which the person owns or leases.
