Sec. 1. Any organization holding unclaimed property shall examine the records of its offices, including branch offices and various subsidiaries, to determine:

1. (1) whether it has knowledge of the whereabouts of the owner;
2. (2) whether the owner has transacted business with regard to other matters with such organization or is otherwise known to such organization; or
3. (3) whether the organization has any records of the owner's current address.
