"Document preparation fee" means any fee charged by a dealership concerning the sale of a motor vehicle, regardless of designation, and that includes costs incurred by the dealership for the preparation of documents concerning the sale of motor vehicle. The term does not include a fee imposed by a financial institution for the purpose of extending credit for the purchase of a vehicle.
