1. (1) A motor vehicle that is:

   1. (A) registered as having a gross weight of at least sixteen thousand (16,000) pounds but not more than twenty-six thousand (26,000) pounds; and
   2. (B) operated for the purpose of transporting property for hire.

2. (2) A motor vehicle that is:

   1. (A) designed to transport fewer than sixteen (16) passengers, including the driver; and
   2. (B) operated for the purpose of transporting passengers for hire.
   3. (b) The holder of an operator's license with a for-hire endorsement is not entitled to operate a commercial motor vehicle.

Sec. 6. (a) In addition to the operating privileges granted to the holder of an operator's license, an operator's license with a for-hire endorsement entitles the holder to operate the following:
